Shearing Completed
Well shearing is over. Hoorayyyyyy! 36 alpacas and mini-llamas. The animals are so happy to get those bulky fleeces off. We've been having 80F days, so you know they just love their new Summer haircuts. This year (my 8th shearing year) was the first time that it rained on shearing day. Thank goodness I bought a blower several years ago and set up fans in the "camelid on-deck" area. I had plenty of help, which saved much misery on my back and legs. We got the animals fairly dried out before shearing, toenails clipped, and fiber bagged and labelled. Now it's time to sort, skirt, and prepare all the fleeces for processing.
